CP/M and the ZX UNO
CP/M and the ZX UNO
Has anyone been able to load the CP/M OS on the ZX UNO?
I know the Spectrum +3 had CPM Plus, I have a copy but I don't know of a method of loading DSK files into the UNO.
Or is there a CP/M compatible core available?
Sorry my post is in English, I do not speak Spanish and the Google Translator is not always understandable.
Thanks

Yes, there is a Quest's CP/M machine core. Look at this.
You will need a disk image with CP/M 2.2. Download it from this page.
NOTE: The core isn't 100% OK. There are some display problems in applications like WordStar 3.30, but the machine is faster than light
Re: CP/M and the ZX UNO
Brilliant, I'll look into this to and find out how to load the core onto my UNO!
Do you know if it is an actual display problem?
Most CP/M display issues are terminal config related, I recall having a problem with that disk image by Grant Searle, such as WordStar 3 display problems when I was working on my Arduino CP/M computer project. But WordStar 4 and some other software from another source worked fine.
Thank you! ☺☺

Re: CP/M and the ZX UNO
What about the Spectrum +3 version of CP/M? Wouldn't it be possible lo load it on the ZX-UNO default core?

Re: CP/M and the ZX UNO
@desUBIKado: Thanks as always... you always do very interesting experiments with the ZX-UNO, man!
I have been reading that thread on the va-de-retro forum and there's a LOT of info there. I seem to understand that there is still some file writting problems with CP/M in the ZX-Spectrum core, right?

Re: CP/M and the ZX UNO
@Vanfanel: Yes, the CP/M 3.0 works very well in ZX-Uno, but disk write operations don´t work. otivax ,the author of this marvel, could not fix, and this was six month ago. I will try write him, perhaps he could say us something more.
Re: CP/M and the ZX UNO
@desUBIKado: that would be great, because saving progress in CP/M text adventure games is important

Re: CP/M and the ZX UNO
So... Colossal Cave Adventure for CP/M? oooh mama, You're a real "fucking" old-school man!
Re: CP/M and the ZX UNO
In fact we'd need a PDP-10 core to play Adventure as Crowther did.
