Personally, I don't think it's that great. In core 7b 6581 samples are so quiet you can't hear them, which leads me to believe, the core is based on an 8580, which it does very well.

So basically, if you like any games with Rob Hubbards sample music driver, ie Arcade Classics, Skate or Die, BMX Kids, you're going to be disappointed.

Or if you like the 8580 in general, and aren't bothered about samples that were created for the 6581, you'll be fine.

In Wikipedia in English, it was an example that the difference between "6581" and "8580", "Fourth channel" exists. (When accessing the volume register, offset voltage is generated, so it can be like a PCM sound.)

Is the sound of electric guitar sound synthesized by SID?
I think that the PCM sound outputted from the "fourth channel" is such as "guitar sounds that come out in the front" sound quality and keyboard sounds with a lot of channels.

I know, shame it doesn't work correctly.
